Pronounced “FEEster”! Ryan is the filmmaker behind every wedding film, while Jenn works behind the scenes as our administrative coordinator, helping couples throughout the planning process. We were married in Virginia in 2015 and are the proud parents of two sweet girls, Kyleigh and Madeline, our little “videographers in training.”
Long before Ryan began filming weddings, his work was rooted in documentary storytelling. As a humanitarian photographer and filmmaker, he spent years traveling throughout the United States and more than 20 countries, documenting real people and deeply personal stories. That experience continues to shape the way we approach weddings today.
We believe the most meaningful wedding films aren’t created by constantly directing the day. They’re found in the moments already happening, the people you love, the words that are spoken, the nervous anticipation, the unexpected laughter, and all the small interactions you may not even notice until you watch them back years later. Our approach is refined and cinematic, but intentionally documentary at its core. We want your wedding to feel like a wedding, not a production, while creating a film that brings you back not only to how the day looked, but to how it actually felt.
Ryan is the filmmaker and editor behind every Ryan Feister Films wedding film. Before entering the wedding world, he spent years working as a humanitarian photographer and filmmaker, traveling throughout the United States and to more than 20 countries to document people, communities, and deeply personal stories.
That background taught him to anticipate moments rather than manufacture them, to observe what’s happening, understand what matters, and tell a story without becoming part of it. It’s an approach that translates naturally to weddings and remains at the heart of every film he creates.
My approach is documentary at its core. I prefer to observe and anticipate moments rather than stage them, allowing you to remain present with the people around you while I quietly document the day as it naturally unfolds.
That documentary approach is paired with intentional composition, movement, natural audio, and cinematic editing to create films that feel refined without losing their authenticity. The goal isn’t to make your wedding look like someone else’s movie. It’s to create a beautiful record of what your wedding genuinely felt like.
As a dad of two girls, father-daughter moments hold a special place in my heart. That said, I truly appreciate any part of your day that is filled with emotion and helps tell your unique story, whether it’s the first look, heartfelt letters, prayers, or similar moments. I also love the energy of a lively dance floor, especially when the DJ plays early 2000s punk songs! Mr. Brightside is always a crowd favorite.
Jenn works behind the scenes as the administrative coordinator for Ryan Feister Films, helping keep communication, questionnaires, scheduling, and the details leading up to each wedding organized.
Her background as an elementary teacher and in administration makes her exceptionally detail-oriented, and she’s often the person making sure everything is in place long before Ryan arrives with a camera.
